My own shotgun journey began as a boy shooting skeet with my father. I struggled at first with borrowed guns that were too big for me. That was overcome with perseverance and a determination to spend time with my dad. My 12th birthday arrived with a single-shot 20 gauge. The fit of that gun along with good instruction transformed me into a consistent skeet shot. Dad and I began dove hunting, and that was just the best thing! We progressed to quail, pheasants, and finally waterfowl. What I enjoyed most was the time spent with family and friends.
Today most of my shooting time is spent on sporting clays and ZZ birds (Helice), upland shooting in the fall, and jump shooting waterfowl.
I took the instructor course at MVC&SS to gain a deeper insight into my own target shooting inconsistencies. This led to understanding eye dominance issues, gun fitting options, and improving the connection between eyes, hands and the targets. Each of us has our own learning style and path to success. As an instructor I enjoy enabling your own path to shooting moving targets in a safe, friendly and fun environment here at Mid-Valley Clays and Shooting School.
