I was introduced to the shotgun sports in the early ’90s and worked as a trap kid loading and pulling targets at Canby Rod and Gun Club. I have been an avid waterfowl hunter and upland hunter since the mid 90’s and have really enjoyed sharing many hunting adventures with family and friends.
In high school I started shooting trap weekly and really enjoyed shooting games every Tuesday night. That lead to joining PITA and WRITA trap shooting associations and started competitive shooting all over the NW. I won my first Championship Buckle at the Hood River Icicle Shoot and from that point I was hooked!
In 2016 I start the Canby High School Trap Shooting Team and have had a blast coaching the athletes. Our first season the team had 13 athletes. Our team has grown to 64 athletes this season! We have had some great teams over the years, winning the Oregon State Championship in 2022,and placing 2nd in 2021 and 2023!
In 2022 my daughter Hailey joined the Mid-Valley Clay Crushers youth shooting team. Since then, I have volunteered to help coach the Crushers which has been a really fun coaching the team in Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays at Mid-Valley Clays & Shooting School!
